Big Rig Driver Education trains students to become professional drivers
in the transportation industry. In business since 1994, Big Rig
Driver Education has
grown to become an industry innovator and leader. The focus of the school
started with training class 1 & 3 drivers, but has expanded to also include
classes 2, 4, & 5. Big Rig driver Education started as a small Edmonton business,
but in recent years it has expanded to include, two offices in Edmonton, and
locations in Red Deer, Fort McMurray, and Drayton Valley. Big Rig
Driver Education announced that it has now opened it's first driving school in Bacau, Romania.
Owner Denzil Matvichuk is very proud of what his company has been able to
accomplish. From the initial orientation, to the one-on-one training, to work
experience placement, to employment, the student is their top priority. It is
their goal to ensure that every student, from those new to the industry, to
individuals simply looking for a refresher, leave the school exceeding both
industry and their own, standards and expectations. Big Rig

their role in the industry very seriously, and does it with enthusiasm and integrity.

Large trucks, commonly referred to as "big rigs", "semi-trucks" or "tractor trailer" trucks
typically weigh 80,000 pounds and range from about 67 to 75 feet in length. Despite that large
trucks represent only 3% of all the registered vehicles on the road.
According to the Census of Canada, truck driver is the leading occupation among males in Canada at over
260,000 jobs, Moreover, since the trucking industry exists in virtually every community accessible by road,
the jobs and economic contribution of the industry are spread across the entire country. The industry also
offers the first job in Canada for many new Canadians.
